Are tropical tank water tests necessary?

Postby FishED » 16 Dec 2013, 16:09

Hey

I am starting up a tropical tank, and have been reading up on tank maintenance. So far my only experience is with coldwater fish and i just do a partial water change every week! Is it a necessity to use water testing kits or can you just carry out a partial water change after a set amount of time?

Thanks :D

Hello FishED,

You ALWAYS want to have a water testing kit around to check your water parameters. The only thing different between tropical and coldwater is that coldwater do not need heaters, and tropical tanks DO need heaters.
