I'm contemplating getting a bearded dragon and want to know of the best substrate to use.

Hey,

Bearded dragons in their original state actually live amongst rocks and such, So using sand isn't ideal. You could even use some sort of wood. But ideally to simulate natural envronment i woudl recommend rocks, or tiles as they keep their nails worn down so you don't get scratched! but its entirely upto you.

NOT SAND! It causes impaction to juveniles. Susie's right, use rocks or tile, they love it and keeps their nails worn down. :lol:
